No Delicious for You!
From the memo for Staci's work's dinner party this evening:

DINNER
Delicious. (That's all I'm saying right now, except that vegetarian meals will be available for those who prefer them.)

Why, I do believe they're implying that vegetarian meals will not be delicious!

But I like delicious! Sad dinner party!

I had one of the worst vegan meals at a dinner while everyone else had these amazing meals that would have been easily adaptable to vegan.

Yeah! It's like, "Here, have some soggy celery and free-range rutabaga chips (also soggy), and we'll have our side of Sissy Spacek (which could easily be made with tofu and not actual Sissy Spacek, free-range or otherwise) and beef cake (could be vanilla... or Tom Selleck!)."

One of the funniest vegetarian meals I ever had was when I requested a "vegetarian plate" on a plane trip, and they gave me... an apple. With a sticker on it. That said, "Vegetarian Meal".

Funny! Not cool at all -- but funny, nonetheless!

Was it actually on a plate?

Yes. It was a whole red apple, shrinkwrapped to a paper plate.

Too bad you didn't know in advance so you could've planted a worm in it and claimed false advertising!

found your listing of the lyrics - i heard the song on a jean redpath album and loved the song (though i was searching for her rendition, if any, of the lea-rig by burns). now i find - no real surprise - it is a violet jacob poem arranged by jim reid. i love violet jacob and the other angus woman poets (helen cruickshank, and marion angus). how come you cited the words, if i might ask.

Well, because when I posted it, it was actually October 31st, 2005 (the day also known as Halloween)!

But you're right. It's lovely no matter what the occasion!
